The firm was established in May 2002 focused on providing highway design, environmental assessments, transportation planning and construction inspection services in the Northwest and Alaska. Key managers have project experience in eight states and the principal has worked internationally in Albania, Doha Qatar and Jamaica. Skyline Engineering moved to Florida in 2004 and created a Design/Build firm in 2006 specializing in structural high wind design and construction in Hurricane prone regions.
Skyline Engineering and Construction Inc grew to 117 skilled tradesmen and engineers with 3 divisions in Florida focusing on residential and commercial construction providing disaster response teams for Katrina (2005) in Gulfport Mississippi and Wilma in Florida (2005). Skyline moved corporate headquarters to Pearland Texas in 2018 to focus on the growing demand for Highway Design and Construction Management based in Houston for Texas and the Caribbean.
Company Introduction
Michael Edgerly PE, PLS relocated Skyline Engineering to Florida and established a Design/Build Construction Company specializing in design and construction of Aluminum structures in high wind areas. Projects included commercial and residential design and construction. Designed and constructed over $5.5 million in private and public facilities throughout Eastern Florida. I participated in a statewide coordination team with other engineers and contractors in the analysis of excessive failure rates for aluminum structures in Florida. I worked closely on a team of engineers with the Aluminum Association of Florida co-developing a set of design standards and procedures for the “Design of Aluminum Structures” in high wind areas (130 mph to 150 mph wind zones).
